Last fall, the Lawrence community rallied around Just Food in an unprecedented way. We could not be more grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve received in recent months.  This support has allowed us to continue working to feed thousands of Douglas County families in need. As we begin this new chapter as an organization, we know the future of Just Food is all about the people – the clients we serve, our paid staff, and our army of volunteers. We live our mission to fight hunger every minute of every day, but nobody lives it more than Elizabeth Keever. Liz has a proven record of success at Just Food. She has successfully shepherded the organization through some tremendous challenges.

“The Board knew selecting the right Executive Director would be vital to the continued success of the organization, so we were very deliberate throughout this process. After talking with countless stakeholders and other community members, and seeing the incredible work Liz has done as our interim director, it became clear to the Board that Liz was best choice to lead Just Food” Said Brandon Deines, Vice Chair of Just Food’s Board of Directors

Elizabeth joined Just Food in 2013 as Chief Resource Officer. She oversees marketing, communications, development, event planning and food acquisition for the organization. The Board of Directors named her Interim Director in August 2015.

Elizabeth graduated from the University of Kansas and has been an active member of the Lawrence community since 2005. She oversaw the implementation of the organization’s two major annual fundraisers: the Founder’s Dinner and the Kansas Food Truck Festival. She also played a key role in expanding Just Food’s grocery recovery program, which resulted in an increase of food donations by 400 percent. Elizabeth also graduated from Leadership Lawrence in 2015 and serves as the Vice Chair of the Douglas County K-State Research and Extension Board, as well as the Chair of the Live Well Healthy Food for All Coalition.

We are so thrilled to begin this new chapter with Elizabeth.. and with you.

Thank you for your support,

Will Katz
President, Just Food Board of Directors
