Hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation.
Most children can’t wait for summer, but for those who struggle with hunger, summer is one of the hardest times of the year. Over 4,500 kids in our community rely on free and reduced-price meals to keep hunger at bay during the school year. When school ends, so does reliable access to those meals. This means summer brings a line out the door at Just Food
During hard times, we all need a buddy. You can be that person to a child in our community. By becoming a lunch buddy, you are ensuring that no child in Douglas County goes without food this summer. For $25 a month, you have the power to ease a child’s worries. And, by donating to Just Food, not only will you provide lunch, but you’ll also support programs that teach children how to grow and cook healthy food.
Hunger doesn’t take summer off and thanks to your help, neither will we.
