The Fond Dinner Series Returns on March 6th!
Named for the flavorful browned bits of food that stick to the bottom of the pan, The Fond Dinner Series sets out to showcase the fond memories of some of Douglas County's favorite chefs. We’re kicking off the series at 715 on March 6 at 6 pm! Join us for a four-course dinner prepared by Chef Kelly Conwell reflecting on her culinary journey. Every bite tells a story, and every ticket supports our mission.

Advocacy Opportunity: Expanding Access to Free School Meals
A bill that would provide free meals to all K-12 public school students who currently qualify for reduced-price meals—impacting over 35,000 Kansas children—is making its way through the state legislature. Our Director of Impact, Jessica Cooney, recently testified in support of eliminating reduced-price copays. We encourage you to read her testimony and join us in advocating for this to be included in Governor Kelly’s budget by signing Kansas Appleseed's petition below.

Community Partner Spotlight: The Eldridge Hotel
Our community partner spotlight this quarter is The Eldridge Hotel, which became a Just Food partner in 2024. Over the past year, they’ve donated 785 pounds of leftover food to be repacked into ready-to-eat meals at The Chop Shop. We’re extremely grateful for The Eldridge’s partnership and dedication to fighting hunger in our community!
